This program is designed for families that are interested in ongoing, personalized support throughout the college admissions process. Comprehensive clients may begin to work with us at any point during their sophomore, junior or senior years. At VinikEPS, we take great pride in our accessibility in order to create an approach to working with students that is highly individualized. For clients who sign up with VinikEPS in tenth grade, the process begins in the fall of sophomore year with a one-hour family meeting that provides an overview of the college admissions process, explores the student's interests inside and outside the classroom and maps out a basic academic plan for the balance of high school. A second hour-long meeting takes place toward the end of tenth grade to review grades, create a standardized testing plan and look ahead to junior year. During the fall of eleventh grade, we hold a ninety-minute family meeting in order to generate a preliminary list of colleges. In meetings throughout junior and senior years, VinikEPS helps students decide where to apply to college and provides assistance with virtually all aspects of the application process.
For clients who sign up in eleventh grade or twelfth grade, the process begins with a ninety-minute family meeting in order to generate a preliminary list of colleges. The Basic Plan
This program is designed for families who need limited assistance and are primarily interested in making sure that their children apply to appropriate colleges. Families who choose this option have three meetings with a Vinik EPS consultant but handle much of the admissions and application process on their own. The Basic Consulting Plan provides the following services:
One 90-minute meeting in 11th grade to generate a preliminary list of colleges and to discuss 12th grade classes, standardized testing, teacher recommendations and basic admissions concerns.
One 60-minute meeting toward the end of 11th grade to review and update the college list and to provide basic guidance about summer planning for admissions and applications.
One 60-minute meeting in the fall of 12th grade to help make a final college list and to discuss admissions strategy.
A modified version of The Basic Plan is available to seniors.
This limited program is for families who want help generating a preliminary list of colleges in junior or senior year and are prepared to handle the rest of the college admissions and application process on their own. Families who choose this option will meet for approximately 90 minutes with a Vinik EPS consultant who will generate a list of between twenty and thirty colleges based on grades, standardized test scores, academic and extracurricular interests and other factors (size, location, campus culture, etc.) that students consider important.
